Under the pretext of fighting “the rise of anti-Semitism”
The Zionist movement in Canada organizes a conference to demand repression against Palestinian organizing and solidarity

Zionist and right-wing organizations in North America and Europe announced their intention to hold an international conference under the slogan “Confront and Fight Anti-Semitism,” to be held in the Canadian capital (Ottawa) on October 16 and 17, in order to “confront” what they claim is a “dangerous and unprecedented escalation in anti-Semitism and hatred of Jews and Israel in Canada and around the world.”
The Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement said, “This Zionist conference in Canada comes alongside the escalation of popular and international support for the heroic Palestinian resistance in occupied Palestine on the one hand, and the escalation of Palestinian and Arab popular participation in the Palestinian liberation movement in the diaspora and the growing movement to boycott the occupation in universities, unions and Canadian schools.”
Many of the Zionist organizations organizing the conference in Ottawa in October, and the American and European figures supporting them, are the same ones that organized a forum within the European Parliament at the end of March 2023 demanding the criminalization of the Samidoun Network and supporters of the resistance.
“The choice of time and place by the fascist and racist forces and allies of the Zionist entity is not innocent, but rather comes ahead of the popular demonstrations and international events announced by Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network and many revolutionary and leftist forces around the world in support of the prisoners’ movement in the occupation prisons and to demand the liberation of Lebanese struggler for Palestine Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, who will enter his 40th year in French prisons in October,” said the Masar Badil.
The movement renewed its call for continued mobilization for broad popular participation in supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, supporting the struggle of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement, and participating in activities demanding the liberation of the freedom fighter Georges Abdallah, particularly the central march in Lannemezan, France, on October 21.
