The Authority in Ramallah is a Direct Partner in the Genocidal War, Entrenching the Occupation and Torturing Prisoners

The Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement affirms that the Palestinian Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah is playing a dangerous functional role in entrenching the colonial system in Palestine. The Authority has become a direct partner in the open war on the Palestinian people. We call for its downfall and the building of an alternative revolutionary national leadership.

While the Zionist-American massacre against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem has continued for nearly two years, the treacherous Authority persists in collaborating with the occupation to suppress the resistance and torture prisoners in its jails. This has been evident in the cases of detainee Mohammed Hashlamoun, Ahmad Shabrawi—who has so far spent 10 years in the Authority’s prisons—and Musab Shtayyeh, detained since September 2022, who was transferred to the hospital two days ago after being subjected to brutal torture at the hands of the occupation’s agents masquerading as “Palestinian security forces.”

The Authority’s leadership continues its policy of arrests, torture, and the distortion of our people’s struggle, fully aligned with the U.S.-Zionist discourse aimed at criminalizing and disempowering the resistance. This serves only to preserve the existence of a collaborationist class and the privileges of Abbas’s clique—at a time when what we need is national unity to confront genocide, settlement expansion, and Judaization projects in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Masar Badil extends a revolutionary salute to the steadfastness of the Palestinian prisoners in the occupation’s prisons and in the Authority’s detention centers. Our heroic prisoners are waging battles of dignity with their bodies and unyielding will; they are the true leadership of our people.

We also salute the fedai operations in Gaza, the West Bank, and the occupied homeland since 1948. These operations are evidence that the flame of resistance remains ignited and unbroken, despite massacres, repression campaigns, and security coordination.

The Palestinian Authority has never been a unifying national framework nor a liberation project. It was born out of the womb of the Oslo Accords to serve as a tool in the hands of the occupation to manage and control the Palestinian people. Its continued existence represents a direct threat to the present of our people and the future of our cause.

The Masar Badil affirms that isolating the Authority and ending its functional security and political role is an urgent national necessity and a central step in struggle. We call for the rapid formation of an alternative revolutionary national leadership that expresses the will of the Palestinian people in the homeland and in exile, and restores comprehensive resistance as the strategic option to achieve our people’s goals of liberation and return.
