The Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, strongly condemned the Greek authorities at Athens International Airport on for detaining internationalist activist Charlotte Kates and preventing her from entering the country, in a political decision driven directly by a travel ban imposed by the German authorities and incitement from the Zionist entity.

Kates, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, was on her way to participate in an international meeting dedicated to addressing Zionist war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip. This, the Movement noted, exposes the political nature of the decision and its attempt to cover up the crimes of the occupation by targeting free voices and international legal and human rights organizations.

For his part, Mohammed Khatib, European coordinator of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, affirmed that the repressive policies practiced by European regimes against supporters of Palestine “expose the falseness of the so-called ‘progressive European position,’” calling upon the Greek people, who have long stood strongly alongside the Palestinian people, to “condemn these official Greek practices, at the very moment when Zionist delegations and war criminals are welcomed on Greek soil and celebrated by the right-wing government.”

We further emphasize that this step represents blatant submission to the dictates of the Zionist enemy, and a deliberate targeting of international activists who stand with the Palestinian people in their struggle against occupation and the genocide ongoing for nearly two years.
