The Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, asserted that the World Economic Forum in Davos is not a platform for international dialogue or a framework for discussing the future of humanity. Rather, it constitutes a political and economic gathering of imperialism and parasitic capitalism, aimed at reproducing the system of global plunder and entrenching hegemony over colonized and oppressed peoples. The forum is being held at a time of escalating wars and economic and social crises, while fateful decisions are being made in Davos, far removed from the will of the people and their fundamental rights.

The Davos Forum has become a space for coordinating policies between subservient governments and global capital networks, serving the interests of large corporations and banks at the expense of workers and the poor. It provides political and economic cover for aggression, occupation, and the starvation of populations. Participants in the forum enjoy an undeclared immunity from international law, while policies of impoverishment, privatization, and dependency are imposed on peoples under false pretenses.

Further, reports indicate that US President Donald Trump intends to sign the charter and powers of the so-called “Peace Council” next Thursday, on the sidelines of the Davos conference. The Masar Badil considers this a further confirmation of the forum’s colonial nature and its direct role in reproducing American-Zionist hegemony.

We emphasize our absolute rejection of any political or moral legitimacy for the Davos system in determining the future of humanity. The so-called world order is nothing more than a continuation of colonialism in more brutal forms. The future of peoples is not forged in closed halls of elites, but rather seized through popular struggle, resistance, and popular revolutions aimed at achieving national liberation and social justice.

We affirm our full solidarity with the resistance movements of peoples in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, and call upon liberation forces worldwide to expose the role of the Davos forum, boycott its policies, and engage in a global battle against the exploitation and systematic plundering of peoples’ resources.
