Palestinian writer Khaled Barakat, a member of the Executive Committee of the Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, said that “since October 7, 2023, the Zionist entity has become a very heavy burden on the shoulders of the creators and sponsors of its settler colonial and racist project in Palestine, especially the United States and the core imperialist powers in Europe, such as Germany, France, Britain, and others.” He continued, “The Zionist colony in Palestine is digging its own grave and is moving at a rapid pace towards defeat, disintegration and disappearance.”
Barakat emphasized that “the enemy’s continued crimes in the Gaza Strip on the one hand, and the steadfastness of our people and the courage of the resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq on the other, have made a strategic shift in favor of the project of Palestinian liberation. It has only further revealed the criminal and expansionist nature of the enemy and the inability of the forces of imperialism, Zionism and reactionary forces to liquidate the rights and presence of the Palestinian people.”
He added, “The Arab and Islamic armed resistance in the region now enjoys an unprecedented Palestinian, Arab, Islamic, and international popular cradle, after the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades launched the cry and spark of the new Palestinian revolution at the dawn of October 7, 2023. With blood and weapons, this action restored the central role of the liberation of Palestine and the return of the Palestinian people, to the entire Arab nation, the region and the world, in a time when illegitimate forces like the Palestinian Authority and even the PLO, which is today led by collaborators and traitors, have fallen into obsolescence and have become a thing of the past.”
Barakat called on “the Oslo team, led by Mahmoud Abbas, to leave before our people put them on trial. Reality has spoken, and the Palestinian resistance, which the Palestinian people rally around and trust in its decision, approach, and compass of its weapons, is the only party that represents our people in the homeland and the diaspora.”
He further noted that “we look forward to the launch of a student and popular uprising throughout occupied Palestine and the diaspora. The Palestinian people in general, and the younger generation in particular, realize that the ongoing battle is a decisive and historic milestone in the path of their national liberation struggle. It will determine our future and destiny, and our people will not accept any retreat to the status quo pre-October 7.”
Regarding the “Student Intifada” in US universities, Barakat said, “The NYPD’s suppression of Columbia University students in New York and the incursion of highly militarized US police forces into the campuses of some American universities exposes the nature of the corrupt U.S. system and the lie of ‘Western democracy’. This repression will not succeed in stopping the expansion and growth of this movement in U.S., European and Canadian universities. The student movement has crossed a bridge and has built strong foundations for its growth, continuity and development,” he affirmed.
