On March 26, the Al-Quds Day commemoration took place in Athens, Greece, marking the inaugural action of the Association of Friends of West Asia. The event was attended by a representative of the Iranian Embassy, while speeches were made by lawyer Yiannis Rachiotis and Sotiris Lapieris, a member of BDS Greece.
Khaled Barakat of the Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, intervened via video. who stressed that this day reminds us that the crimes of the Zionist regime will not go unanswered. He called for a fight to defend the rights and dignity of people, underlining that more and more people are recognizing the common enemy – the deadly colonial project, “Israel”. He stressed that the Palestinian struggle is the business of every person fighting for justice and freedom, and that it is crucial to unite all anti-imperialist forces in the world.

Konstantina Kartsiotis, representing the Anti-Imperialist Front, pointed out the need to create a front in Greece that firmly supports the Resistance Axis with organization and dedicated work.
During the event, greetings and thanks for the invitation were sent to the comrades of Greece, and a special salute was made to Yemen, which continues to resist. It was noted that the planned connection with a representative of Hamas was not possible, due to interference by the Zionist regime.
Al-Quds Day, which was chosen as the opening event for the association, emerged once again as a day of struggle against US-European-Zionist imperialism, reinforcing the message that solidarity and resistance will not stop until complete liberation.
