Beirut – Saturday, 12 July 2025
As part of the commemoration of the 53rd anniversary of the martyrdom of the great Palestinian writer and journalist Ghassan Kanafani, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement (Masar Badil), in cooperation with a number of organizations and associations within its framework, organized an international webinar via Zoom entitled: “Palestinian Journalists Under Attack: Voices of Truth, Voices of Resistance” with the participation of activists, journalists and media professionals from Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Arab world.
The event was moderated by Charlotte Kates, international coordinator of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, and featured speakers Ahmad Sabbahi (Palestine Today), Ahmad Shaldan (Al-Mayadeen), and Enas Abu al-Jebain (Al-Aqsa TV), who shared powerful testimonies and eyewitness accounts of the ongoing Zionist assault on the Gaza Strip, highlighting the direct targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists while carrying out their professional and national duties.
Participants emphasized that the Zionist occupation is waging a dual war: a military war on the ground, and a media war that aims to erase the Palestinian narrative and suppress the truth through the systematic targeting of journalists, destruction of media institutions, and the assassination of those who carry the pen and the camera.
The webinar concluded with the Masar Badil’s affirmation of the urgent need to build an international media front that stands with the Palestinian cause and supports resisting journalists, as an integral part of the struggle to liberate Palestine from the river to the sea.
