Greek Activists Impose a Blockade on the Zionist Ship “Ever Golden” at the Port of Piraeus in Rejection of Complicity in the Genocide in Gaza

Athens – Monday, 14 July 2025

Crowds of anti-imperialist activists in Greece, together with anti-Zionist solidarity organizations and movements, imposed a popular blockade on the Zionist ship Ever Golden, docked at the Port of Piraeus – SIPO 2 and 3 in the Perama area. This action came in response to the call by Enedep, the Greek Dockworkers’ Union, which urged the blocking of ships involved in supporting the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The besieged ship is transporting equipment and supplies believed to be used in the ongoing Zionist war against the Palestinian people—a war that has led to the martyrdom of tens of thousands and the destruction of vital infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, which has been under siege for 18 years.

In a statement issued from the site of the sit-in, the Anti-Imperialist Front – Greece declared:

“These ships of the Zionist killers are not welcome in our ports! We will not allow instruments of killing and death to pass through our land to Palestine, and we call on the masses of our people to escalate the actions this coming Wednesday at 10 p.m. at SIPO 2 and 3 – Perama.”

During the sit-in, slogans and chants were raised denouncing Zionism and imperialism, holding the Greek state responsible for its complicity in supporting the Zionist occupation. Voices rang out across the port with chants:

“We will stand with Gaza, with Palestine, with the resistance until victory!”

In a solidarity step aligned with international boycott campaigns, Greek labor unions announced their readiness to coordinate with global solidarity movements to expand the blockade to additional ports. They emphasized that popular pressure is an effective tool to halt support for the Israeli killing machine.

For its part, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement (Masar Badil) praised the action, stating:

“This popular mobilization in Greece affirms that the battle for Palestine is no longer confined within the borders of Arab geography. It has become an international cause that moves free peoples against systems of repression, normalization, and complicity. It also reaffirms that the ports of the Mediterranean will not remain safe passages for weapons of genocide and occupation gear, and that the resistance of the peoples knows no borders when it comes to justice, dignity, and liberation.”
