The Zionist-Nazi occupation’s continuation of its criminal policy of engineered starvation and escalation of all forms of genocide against over two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip—in full view of the world—constitute a crime against humanity. This will remain a stain on all those who support the occupation and those who fail to act to stop it.

The occupation continues the war of genocide and starvation against the Gaza Strip amidst American support and international silence and inability. Washington and the occupation are trying to turn a UN Security Council session on Gaza into an issue of “israeli” prisoners. The number of starvation victims in the Gaza Strip has reached 180, including 93 children. The number of victims due to targeting aid seekers has reached 1487 martyrs and over 10,000 injured. The percentage of families suffering from food insecurity has reached 96%. The Strip is suffering from a severe shortage of infant formula and health supplies to deal with hunger. 22,000 aid trucks are waiting at the crossings amidst the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip. The occupation deliberately prevents the entry of aid trucks as part of a systematic starvation policy.

The world has witnessed the humane treatment of enemy prisoners held by the resistance since October 7, 2023. This has been further confirmed by testimonies of released enemy prisoners. The resistance has also consistently clarified that enemy prisoners eat what our besieged and starved people eat, and drink what they drink.

The resistance’s treatment of occupation prisoners adheres to the values and merciful principles of Islam, and also based on the availability of humanitarian supplies to our people in Gaza. They live the same conditions as the people of Gaza, while the fascist occupation government practices the most brutal forms of torture, savage revenge, humiliation, and slow killing against our prisoners in its jails.

Breaking the siege, opening all crossings immediately, and urgently delivering food, water, and medicine to the entire Gaza Strip are the only ways to end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, NOT to bow the US-backed occupation’s policy of distributing aid under a scheme of engineered starvation and chaos.

We call on UN Security Council members to pressure the occupation:

  • to halt the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, in compliance with international humanitarian law, which holds the occupying power responsible for providing the necessities of life—food, medicine, water, and all requirements for dignified living,
  • stop the policy of mass starvation, which amounts to a war crime,
  • and exert firm pressure to stop the aggression and siege.

The UN Security Council must issue clear and binding resolutions:

  • to compel the occupation to halt its genocide, including its massacres, violations, starvation tactics, and destruction of civilian life in Gaza,
  • force it to withdraw from Gaza,
  • open crossings for humanitarian aid,
  • and end its violations against prisoners in its jails.
