August 16 and 17: Shout in the face of the occupation
Alkarama calls on the women of the world to engage in effective solidarity with the struggle of Palestinian women

The Alkarama Palestinian Women’s Movement renewed its call to all the women of the world to join a new wave of effective and escalating solidarity with the women of Palestine, foremost among them the women of the Gaza Strip, who face daily genocide, starvation, and displacement under the fire of the Zionist occupation and American and European bombs. In a statement issued today, the movement called for August 16 and 17 of this year to be considered days of effective solidarity with the struggle of Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip.

The Alkarama statement read:

At this decisive moment in our struggle, we call on the women of the world to boycott Zionist women’s organizations involved in whitewashing the image of the occupation and to declare a comprehensive feminist rupture with them, as they are colonial tools that contradict the most basic principles of human solidarity and women’s liberation. We call for rejecting all forms of normalization with these Zionist organizations under deceptive slogans such as “dialogue,” “women’s work,” “peace,” and other false and misleading banners.

The statement added:

We call for the organization of grassroots events and activities led by struggling women, expressing their voices in support of Palestinian women in Gaza, in support of their legendary steadfastness in confronting Israeli war crimes, and to strengthen the shared struggle for national and social liberation.

Alkarama also demanded the launch of the broadest popular campaign to demand the immediate release of Palestinian women prisoners in the occupation’s jails, especially the sick and the minors, and the release of all male and female prisoners from the prisons of Zionist oppression, as well as supporting the campaigns organized by the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network.

Alkarama stressed the need for a comprehensive boycott of Israeli products as part of the tools that fund the war machine, and as a means of applying economic and political pressure on the occupation, as well as a boycott of Zionist academic programs and institutions that collude with the colonial system and participate in producing the discourse of domination and racism.

In this context, Alkarama extended a special militant greeting to the women of Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the women and peoples of Indigenous nations around the world, who have stood firmly alongside our people’s struggle, joined the campaigns to break the siege, and responded to our people’s call, and to the Black women in the United States, who struggle against racism and inspire through their historic fight for freedom and justice.

Alkarama concluded its statement by affirming the unity of women’s struggle in confronting colonialism, Zionism, and fascism.
