The Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, sent a militant salute to the port workers of Genoa and Athens and to all the labor unions participating in support of the Global Sumud Flotilla heading to Gaza, praising their heroic stance in confronting the ongoing Zionist siege that has lasted for 22 months, and their recognition of the ports as arenas of confrontation against the occupation and its backers.
The Masar Badil affirms that the declaration by the workers of Genoa and Athens of their readiness to paralyze port activity and halt the shipment of weapons and goods to the occupation entity represents “a strategic transformation in the battle to break the siege, and a strong message to the complicit European governments that the peoples do not stand with the executioner but with the victim.” Port workers in both cities have already taken action to block ships carrying weaponry to the Zionist entity from being loaded or unloaded in their ports.
We join the workers in warning that any Zionist attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla or on the volunteers participating in it “will be met with an unprecedented global response,” noting that labor unions in several countries are considering the call for an international workers’ strike that would paralyze ports and airports and halt trade with the occupation.
We call on all labor unions and port federations around the world to prepare for immediate action and to organize broad strikes in defense of the volunteers participating in the flotilla and in defense of our people’s right to life, freedom, and dignity in Gaza and throughout occupied Palestine, affirming that confronting the siege and breaking the supply lines of genocide are basic human responsibilities, beyond a principled political stance.
