In Rosario, Argentina, the Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, participated in a broad public demonstration with trade union, social and human rights organizations and political parties, denouncing the military and economic aggression by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The demonstrators affirmed their rejection of what they described as the “farce called the war on drugs,” and of U.S. claims of “defending human rights,” noting that these are mere pretexts used to justify blatant aggression targeting resistant peoples and their national sovereignty.

Protesters highlighted that the American aggression comes in the context of an ongoing expansionist imperialist policy pursued by the United States and its allies in a number of countries in the region and the world, from Palestine to Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen and Iraq, and the accompanying violence, looting and imposition of subordinate regimes.

The demonstration Rosario coincided with solidarity activities in a number of Argentine cities, stressing that the Venezuelan people are not alone in confronting this aggression, and that the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean stand in solidarity with Venezuela.

The participants called for an immediate cessation of military escalation, respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty and right to self-determination, and the immediate release of legitimate Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, emphasizing that the targeting of the Venezuelan leadership is a part of the U.S.’ ongoing attempts to control the country’s strategic wealth, especially oil and minerals.

Masar Badil members noted the need to escalate the popular and revolutionary struggle confronting imperialist policies, and reject neutrality in the face of the escalation of U.S. aggression in the region and the world. “Defending Venezuela is defending Palestine, it is defending Latin America and the Caribbean, and all the peoples who resist plunder, occupation and war.”
