The Palestinian Arab people in occupied Palestine, in the countries of exile, and the regions of refuge and diaspora, stand steadfast and united on the 30th of March 2023, commemorating the eternal Land Day, 47 years after that immortal historical confrontation, to affirm once again our revolutionary path of liberation. On this day, we renew the covenant of loyalty to the martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners, and the Palestinian people declare once again their adherence to their homeland, Palestine, all of Palestine, their sacred right to return to their homeland and to liberate the land of Palestine, from the river to the sea.
March 30, 1976 will remain a date engraved in the Palestinian and Arab popular memory as a bright and indelible revolutionary sign from the history of our struggling people. Land Day was born after the Zionist occupation attempted to confiscate thousands of dunums of Palestinian lands in the 1948 occupied territories. Our people responded with a complete strike, popular marches and demonstrations that took place in the Galilee, the Triangle and the Negev, where they confronted occupation forces who attacked these demonstrations, in which 6 Palestinians were martyred. Since that day, Land Day has become an occasion in which the Palestinian people, along with the friends of Palestine and democratic and revolutionary forces of the world, remember these martyrs while confronting expansionist Zionist colonialism.
Land Day remains an immortal milestone off struggle on the road to return, liberation, and freedom from the shackles of Zionist colonialism. On this day 47 years ago, the masses of our Palestinian people re-aligned the compass of struggle once again, and etched with blood and sacrifice the meaning of the land and its position in the struggle, and in the memory of the entire Arab people from the ocean to the Gulf.
Today, our people are advancing towards the fields of direct confrontation with the enemy forces with unparalleled determination, valor and courage. We are reminded, by friend and enemy alike, that the Palestinian masses, our people in occupied Palestine 1948, were and still are advancing in the front ranks in confronting the racist Zionist settler colonial project.
More than four and a half decades have passed since that historic confrontation. Before and after it, our people, in the homeland and in the diaspora, fought dozens of battles confronting the policy of annihilation, liquidation, and Israelization. Its vanguards remain struggling in Nazareth, Haifa, the Naqab, Yafa and Akka, confronting the war machine of colonialism, racism, exploitation and oppression.
On the first of March, the Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement called on all its organizations and supporters to participate extensively in organizing the “March for Palestine” campaign in order to defend the people and the land of Palestine, support the prisoners’ movement, and confront the crimes and policies of the racist Zionist colonial entity throughout occupied Palestine. This campaign also emphasized the importance of loyalty to our people through broad popular participation in the launch of the “International Campaign to Liberate the Bodies of Martyrs”, the commemoration of “International Women’s Day” and the activities of the forty-seventh anniversary of “Eternal Land Day”.
Our movement emphasized that the month of March 2023 is an important station for participating in the activities organized by the Alkarama Palestinian Women’s Mobilization to highlight the struggle of Palestinian and Arab women in defending the land, the people, and the resistance, and in protecting the Palestinian identity and memory.
Our movement participated with various Palestinian and Arab groups and communities, student and youth movements in universities, academic institutions and secondary schools in supporting the historical battle waged by the Palestinian prisoners’ movement in confronting the policies of the criminal fascist Ben Gvir. This reflected an immediate response to the call issued by the leadership of the prisoners’ movement in Zionist prisons, with many activities mobilizing in support of the prisoners’ movement organized by the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, especially in Europe, North America and Latin America.
And just yesterday, March 29, 2023, Zionist and fascist organizations mobilized their supporters, parties, and representatives at the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels to “warn” against what they called “the extremist rhetoric adopted by the Masar Badil, Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement and the organizations that participate in it.” Once again, we reaffirm our adherence to the goals that we affirmed at the launch of the movement. There is no place for coexistence with Zionism and racism, and there is no place for the Zionist entity, its institutions and its colonial regime on an inch of our occupied land from the river to the sea.
Today, we renew our call to continue our struggle, our activities, and our duties, and work to confront the companies and institutions involved in the crime of plundering and stealing Palestinian and Arab lands, especially those that are active internationally in supporting and funding settlement projects in the Naqab, Jerusalem, the West Bank, the Syrian Golan, and the entire occupied land of Palestine.
Long live Land Day
Glory to the martyrs…and victory will come for our struggling Palestinian people!
