On the immortal anniversary of Land Day

Land Day marked and will continue to mark a revolutionary flare on the path to liberation and return for Palestine

The Palestinian people throughout occupied Palestine and in exile and diaspora commemorate Land Day on the 30th of March each year, marking a renewal of commitment and loyalty to the martyrs, the wounded and the prisoners, affirming their attachment and dedication to Palestine, their homeland, all of Palestine, from the river to the sea.

30 March 1976 will remain like an indelible tattoo engraved in the popular memory of the Palestinian and Arab people. It is a luminous revolutionary flare, a milestone in the history of the struggling Palestinian people and their long struggle for return, liberation and emancipation from the shackles of Zionist colonialism. The people of Occupied Palestine ’48 once again realigned the compass of struggle, engraving with their shed blood the meaning and centrality of the land in the struggle and in the conscience of the entire Arab people.

On this day, the masses took to the fields of direct confrontation with the Zionist forces with unparalleled determination, courage and bravery. Today, both friends and enemies of the Palestinian people must recognize that the Palestinian Arab masses in occupied Palestine ’48 were and still are advancing the front lines of confrontation against the racist Zionist settler-colonial project.

During the four decades that have followed that historic confrontation, our Palestinian people inside Palestine and in exile and diaspora have fought dozens of battles and heroic epics confronting the policy of erasure, dispossession, dissolution and liquidation of the Palestinian consciousness and presence. They have confronted and laid bare the machine of colonialism, racism, exploitation and subjugation.

The whole world has witnessed how only days ago, thousands of the heroic Palestinian masses gathered on the land of the city of Umm al-Fahm, led by new Palestinian generations, to declare in one voice: “This land is ours — here we are remain and we are steadfast,” and we have seen the achievements of these revolutionary youth on the national and social levels, raising the flag of Palestine and the banner of the people over buildings, minarets, churches, hills and electricity poles.

Our struggling people recognize with their consciousness of history and based on long experience that the daily suffering and challenges they face, including lateral violence within the community, are directly related to the reality of the Zionist occupation, its institutions, its colonial program and social domination, and a natural result of the failure of liberal programs and forces to change the political, social and economic reality of colonialism.

The Preparatory Committee of the Conference of the Alternative Palestinian Path (Masar Badil) sends a militant greeting to all of the martyrs and wounded of our Palestinian people everywhere and to the strugglers and revolutionaries throughout the occupied homeland, Palestine, everywhere in exile and diaspora, and reiterates the aims and foundations of the struggle for national liberation.

On the anniversary of the immortal Land Day, we renew our rejection and condemnation of every attack and plot, whatever its title or source, which aims to fragment and divide our land and people and divert attention from the reality of the daily struggle in occupied Palestine.

The commemoration of Land Day not only in occupied Palestine ’48, but in the West Bank, Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, and in the camps of Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, and in all the capitals of the world is a Palestinian commitment that confirms the determination of our people everywhere on their unity and adherence to the land of Palestine from the river to the sea.

On this day, we call upon our people in occupied Palestine ’48 to work and struggle for unity to confront the lateral violence in the community created and fomented by the occupation that targets the security of our people and society. This is an individual and collective task that requires revolutionary awareness and a sense of national responsibility, and it is inseparable from the struggle for liberation and emancipation from colonialism.

The Preparatory Committee salutes he courageous stand of the masses of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Naqab and Sheikh Jarrah, who daily confront the Zionist policies of land confiscation and demolition of homes and villages that target our land and people, and who must be met with support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in every home.

We call upon all to participate in the activities organized by the Alternative Palestinian Path (Masar Badil) to expose the Zionist settler project targeting our land and people in the Naqab and to join in the commemoration of Land Day on Saturday, 3 April organized by the local committee for the Alternative Palestinian Path (Masar Badil) in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe.

On this immortal Land Day, we call upon ourselves and upon the masses of our Palestinian people everywhere to unify, come together and build collective solidarity in order to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement in the occupation jails and to work for their liberation, and to join in the national and international campaigns organized by Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network.

Long live the immortal Land Day!

Glory to the martyrs — victory will come for our struggling Palestinian people.
